Align and integrate ILI data with the pipeline centerline.

Our Chainage Alignment Tool (CAT) facilitates the alignment of both non-stationed above-ground survey data and in-line inspection (ILI) data to stationed database pipeline and appurtenance data. This process effectively interpolates engineering-station data points in above-ground-surveys and ILI data by utilizing control points selected by the user from the IRAS database.

CAT allows you to rigorously control the quality of your imported data file by utilizing dozens of validation checks. Potential errors are automatically highlighted, allowing you to view the quality of your selected alignment points, manually edit and correct minor errors, and assign alignment points to accurately align the data to the pipeline centerline. And you do not have to be concerned about the source of your (ILI) data as CAT functionality is vendor independent.

CAT can generate notable exceptions reports, to identify the differences between the pipeline assets that were detected by the ILI tool and the master inventory in your IRAS database.  This provides an excellent road map for updating the inventory in the sources systems (such as adding a casing or deleting a valve that had been removed).

Chainage Alignment Tool (CAT) Features

  • Align Vendor ILI runs to the pipeline centerline stored in the database using known reference points
  • Process, align, and load MFL or caliper data from any ILI vendor within a single application.
  • Align CIS and similar field collected data
  • CAT automatically highlights the most suitable match for aligning data.
  • Easily interpret graphically displayed error and drift in alignment accuracy.
  • Aligned data set can automatically be loaded into the IRAS database
  • Automatically calculate US regulatory anomaly response times as per CFR195 or 192 or your own corporate standard
  • Generation of notable exceptions report to assist in inventory management.
